          Alumina-toughened Zirconia

Alumina-toughened zirconia is a composite ceramic material consisting of small alumina particles in a very fine matrix of (nanosized) zirconia particles.

          Characteristics of alumina-toughened zirconia include:

          • Electrically insulating
          • High thermal conductivity
          • High strength and stiffness
          • Available in a range of purities
          • Excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis at elevated temperatures
